"Ashes", the new single from Laurent Garnier’s protégé Yann Cleary, is a tantric and collapsological variation on the 18th century English nursery rhyme "Ring a Ring o Roses" that reminds us that death is present in life itself ("my body’s deteriorating, consuming me from the inside"). While colorful jazz chords support Cleary's warm introverted vocals à la Sufjan Stevens, the granular beat was created mainly on prepared electric chromatic harp with Laura Perrudin.

Chanson downtempo aux textures cendrées et granulaires, au beat flottant tendance new soul, "Ashes" est co-produite avec Laura Perrudin, étoile montante de la pop et du jazz. Elle y prête généreusement ses chœurs et son beatmaking basé sur sa harpe chromatique électrique préparée. Le geste vocal nu et sobre de Yann Cleary évoque la chaleur introvertie de Sufjan Stevens.
"Ashes" est une variation tantrique et collapsologique de la comptine dansante anglaise du 18ème siècle “Ring a Ring o' Roses”, qui nous rappelle que la mort est déjà présente dans le microbiote pendant la vie.
